BEFORE WE BEGIN:

If, and after our initial consultation you would like to consider working with me – a written proposal including confirmation of the research as discussed and an estimate of the charges involved will be drafted for your consideration.

There is no charge for the drafting of the written proposal.

now WE BEGIN:

If, after consideration of the written proposal you commission me to undertake research on your behalf – a deposit of 50% of the estimated balance due becomes payable.

If, and despite my best efforts, no research information can be found for you – the deposit will not be refunded.

Should you make the decision to end your commission with me after research has already been undertaken on your behalf – the deposit will not be refunded.

the terms and conditions Now that We’ve BEgun:

I. charges payable:

Any and all research undertaken by me on your behalf is subject to a charge of £40 per hour.

The charge of £40 per hour applies to the undertaking of any and all research, any and all written report(s) and updates, and of my communication with you.

With the conclusion of any and all research undertaken by me on your behalf – the remaining balance becomes payable.

A research report(s) with any and all enclosures will only be forwarded to you from me upon the successful payment completion of the final balance due.

The Payment Terms are 30 Days.

II. additional charges payable:

These charges may include:

Certificates including birth, marriage or death registration.

Other documents including copies of land registry deeds or probate records.

Travel expenses to an archive of graveyard.

You will be required to authorise any and all Additional Charges Payable before we proceed.

III. methods of payment:

Payment can be made in the following ways:

By bank transfer to a United Kingdom registered business account trading as The Dead Sleuth Limited upon receipt of an invoice raised.

By Stripe to a United Kingdom registered business account trading as The Dead Sleuth Limited upon receipt of an invoice raised.

By PayPal to a United Kingdom registered account trading as The Dead Sleuth upon receipt of an invoice raised.

IV. the research:

The research report(s) with any and all electronic attachment(s) will be sent to you by email.

However, if you do not have access to email and/or would prefer to receive any research report(s) with copies of any and all attachment(s) by post – please let me know.

Although I am happy to send research material by post – additional charges for postage and packing may become payable.

You will be required to authorise any and all Additional Charges for Postage and Packing before we proceed.

Any and all research undertaken by me on your behalf will not be shared with another party unless:

I have your consent to do so.

I am required by Law.

I deem it necessary to protect my rights.

V. addenduM:

Under the United Kingdom laws of copyright – any and all research undertaken by me as The Dead Sleuth Limited on your behalf is subject to protection by copyright and other proprietary rights and must not be published without my written authority or the written authority of my nominated legal representative(s).
